You’re going to need a rocket ship and you ought to know, Mars is the god of war. So why would you mess around with all that?
lyrics
SHERIFF: Deputy Stone, I’m gonna need you back down here down at the jail right away. Yeah I’m having a little trouble with your old boyfriend. Get down here!
AGNES: I’ll be right there, Sheriff
NARRATOR: Agnes quickly arrived at the jail.
AGNES: Sheriff, what’s happening here?
SHERIFF: What’s happening here is a murder. A pissed off old boyfriend and his sweetheart who happens to be in law enforcement arrests him after his night of drinking and fighting. And he shoots her and then himself
AGNES: Wait, WHAT?! You going to do me like this?
SHERIFF: I know what you’ve been up to, Stone. You’re a good cop and all. Maybe too good. Yeah, you found out what’s going on. You know too much. So we're gonna have to, click, take care of things. You think a pipeline company as big as gascorps is gonna come around here and let us do whatever we want? You got three choices when a company like this comes in: You can get on board, get out of the way or you can get run down.
NARRATOR: And BAM - and with that the sheriff shot Agnes Stone in cold blood. But as she went down she was able to grab knock loose the Sheriff’s gun. Cliff who had been on the floor near unconsciousness managed to get his head together find the gun and fire off a several shots. One hit the Sheriff and Cliff was able to make his break.
Now, when he went outside on the town street he was hoping he’d find a car with keys in it.
A town this small, it can happen. But no, he had to settle for a beat up old mountain bike. he headed for the hills and in the night sky he saw the planet Mars - Mars, the God of War.
